New Features in StuffIt 2010

StuffIt SmartSend

SmartSend takes the guesswork out of sending large files via email – simply select the files you want to send, and choose “Stuff & Mail” from the MagicMenu in the Finder’s menu bar. Small files are automatically compressed and attached to a new email message, while larger items are automatically uploaded to a secure website via StuffIt Connect. Instead of receiving a large file that might clog up their inbox, or worse not arrive at all, your friends, family, and co-workers will instead receive an invitation via email. Clicking the link in the email will automatically launch a web browser and connect your recipient to a download page that has been specially created for your file. Say goodbye to email bounce backs forever! StuffIt Deluxe 2010 provides you with a year of StuffIt Connect completely free of charge.

SmartSend can also be configured to take advantage of a user’s existing FTP or MobileMe^SM account.

StuffIt Connect

StuffIt Deluxe 2010 includes exclusive early access to a new file transfer and storage service. Be one of the first to experience the fast, easy, and secure way to share your files. Store up to 2 GB worth of files, and share them with friends. Once your files have been uploaded, you can safely and securely allow access by sending out email invitations that share the files you’ve posted on a file-by-file basis. An invitation to download one of your files can be set to expire after a date you specify, and you can choose to manually cancel an invitation at any time. The files you upload can be encrypted using StuffIt’s strong encryption technology, and you can also password protect the download links that will be used to access your files.

StuffIt Connect offers all the convenience of a cloud based Internet service. You can access your account from any Internet connected Mac, PC, or Linux computer without having to install any StuffIt software. You can also access your files, and even share them with others, from the browser on your mobile phone! StuffIt Deluxe also includes a handy iPhone client that helps you to manage all your StuffIt Connect shares.

Create Disk Images (DMG)

StuffIt Deluxe now creates disk image files (DMG) directly from MagicMenu. Simply select the files you want to add to a disk image, and choose "Create Disk Image" from the MagicMenu.
